Kazakhstan’s defense spending to reach 376.9 bln tenge in 2014
ASTANA. Nov 12 (Interfax-Kazakshtan) – The next year’s defense expenditures of Kazakhstan are budgeted at 376.9 billion tenge or 43 billion tenge more than this year’s, the Kazakh Defense Ministry says in a Monday press release.
Current FOREX rate is 153.6/$1.
According to the 2014 draft budget, 137.9 billion tenge (37% of all defense expenditures) will be spent on development of the national defense forces or 23.1 billion tenge more than in 2013.
The maintenance costs of the national defense forces will come to 239 billion tenge (63%) in 2014 or 20 billion tenge more than this year, according to the release.
