SUMMARY: First two NPPs in Kazakhstan to be built near Lake Balkhash

ASTANA. Oct 1 (Interfax-Kazakhstan) – Kazakhstan's Atomic Energy Agency announced on Thursday that the site for the country's second nuclear power plant (NPP) has been chosen in the Zhambyl district of the Almaty region, near Lake Balkhash, close to the location of the first planned NPP.
