Ex-deputy chairman of Kazakh National Security Committee Abish sentenced to 8 years on probation for abuse of power

ASTANA. March 20 (Interfax-Kazakhstan) - Former first deputy chairman of the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan (KNB) Samat Abish, who is a nephew of ex-president Nursultan Nazarbayev, has been sentenced to the deprivation of freedom for 8 years on probation terms for abuse of power during the January 2022 riots, the press service of the Astana city court said in a press release.
