Belarus to equip Kazakhstan’s Su-25 with missile protection system


ALMATY. May 28 (Interfax-Kazakhstan) – Belarus-based 558 Aircraft Repair Plant plans to upgrade Kazakh Su-25 with aircraft protection systems from radar-guided missiles, the company's deputy director Alexander Vorobei said.

"The plant focuses on aircraft repair and modernization and also develops aircraft protection equipment, including the “Satellite” Anti-Missile Protection System. The Satellite System has already been installed on Kazakhstan’s Su-27 aircrafts and may be bought for Su -25 as well, " Vorobey told Interfax-Kazakhstan on Friday at KADEX-2018.

The Belarus plant has been coopering with Kazakhstan defense sector for more than 10 years. The future plans embrace joint projects and transfer of technologies to Kazakhstan that will be implemented in stages on the premises of Kazakhstan Aviation Industry LLP.
