eJustice system the first of its kind in Central Asian region has been launched in Astana

On February 26, the Court of the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) and the AIFC International Arbitration Centre (IAC) officially launched a new eJustice system in Astana, which is the first of its kind for the Central Asian region.

"I am especially proud to present the eJustice system - perhaps one of the best in the world today. Striving to become an ideal platform for attracting investments, we create all conditions for comfortable business, including for the resolution of commercial disputes. eJustice is a big step forward in this regard. This system will save a lot of time and money for our members. In a world where business success is determined not even by days, but by hours and minutes, this is an important advantage. It is great pleasure that for the first time we receive on our platform the Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Asanov. Over the past year, a productive interaction has been established between the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Court and the IAC of the AIFC. We are grateful to the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the assistance provided and are ready to deepen cooperation in the formation of a new legal culture of Kazakhstan", - said Kairat Kelimbetov, Governor of AIFC.

eJustice is an online portal that allows parties to file claims to the AIFC Court and IAC in electronic form from anywhere in the world without the need for a physical presence in Astana.

The system was developed by the AIFC Court and the IAC together with its IT partner, the Singapore-based company Crimson Logic. The company is a reliable partner for governments and companies around the world, working for over 30 years in introducing world-class innovative solutions, while the AIFC Court and the IAC are independent bodies based on principles of common law of England and Wales and the standards of leading international financial centers.

«eJustice provides an opportunity to resolve all paper issues and file a lawsuit without being physically represented in Astana. For example, lawyers may be in London or New York. The eJustice system is intended not only to demonstrate the latest technologies, but also to provide the effective use of time and money resources», - said the Registrar and Chief Executive of the AIFC Court and IAC Mr. Christopher Campbell-Holt

According to Mr. So Ken Yee, CEO of Crimson Logic, the eJustice system was built using world-class legal product Chrysalis, a proven application with non-standard functionality and features used by leading countries around the world.

“The introduction of the system in record period of time is evidence of the excellent cooperation of the AIFC with Crimson Logic. We are extremely pleased to be a part of the AIFC Court in Justice Modernization Initiative and are convinced that the new system will be convenient and easy to use” added Mr. So Ken Yi.

In the period from February 18 to February 22, 2019, more than 35 Kazakhstani lawyers in Astana and Almaty underwent in-depth training in the eJustice system. The goal was to prepare as much as possible future users of the AIFC Court and the IAC for using the system in the interests of their clients. Further training will be conducted constantly.
