SALARIES IN NORTH KAZAKHSTAN SHOULD BE RAISED - NAZARBAYEV
Astana. August 9. Interfax-Kazakhstan - The President of Kazakhstan NursultanNazarbayevis concerned by the low level of workers' pay in the North Kazakhstan region.
"The average monthly salary in the North Kazakhstan region is only 56,000 tenge, the lowest in Kazakhstan. This issue requires careful analysis and adequate measures,"Nazarbayev said at a meeting devoted to the development of the northern regions of Kazakhstan in the Borovoye resort area in the Akmola region.
The president's words were quoted by his press office.
"In 2011 the salary pool comprised just 5% of the region's agricultural budget whereas profitability stood at 30%. Private companies say they lack qualified personnel in rural areas, but they do not pay proper salaries.
A large amount of state funding to solve the problemis allocatedunder the Employment-2020 and Rural Graduates programs, but business should get more closely involved," Nazarbayev noted.
