COMPETITION PROTECTION AGENCY SUES MAJOR GASOLINE SELLERS

Astana. July 30. Interfax-Kazakhstan - Kazakhstan's State Agency for Protection of Competition (ACP) sues Helios and Royal Petrol for anti-competitive actions.

The regulator classified the actions of the two petroleum distributors "as anti-competitive regarding illegal restriction of retail sales of high-octane gasoline (AI-92)."

In December 2011 these distributors restricted retail sale of gasoline AI-92. However, the probe proved that the companies had available stock and supplies sufficient for selling gasoline without interruption.
