COMPETITION PROTECTION AGENCY SUES MAJOR GASOLINE SELLERS
Astana. July 30. Interfax-Kazakhstan - Kazakhstan's State Agency for Protection of Competition (ACP) sues Helios and Royal Petrol for anti-competitive actions.
The regulator classified the actions of the two petroleum distributors "as anti-competitive regarding illegal restriction of retail sales of high-octane gasoline (AI-92)."
In December 2011 these distributors restricted retail sale of gasoline AI-92. However, the probe proved that the companies had available stock and supplies sufficient for selling gasoline without interruption.
Six extremist group members killed in police operation in Almaty - source
Almaty. July 30. Interfax-Kazakhstan - Six members of an extremist group were killed in the Almaty Akhsel Kent neighborhood in Kazakhstan, the police told Interfax on Monday.
He said the militants took refuge in an apartment house and tenants had to be evacuated.
"The militants were offered the opportunity to surrender but they opened automatic gunfire. Then the police storm began," the source said. "All six militants were gunned down."
Judging by preliminary information, they were members of an extremist organization.
