MORE THAN HALF OF KAZAKHSTAN RESIDENTS SUPPORT PUTIN'S POLITICS, SURVEY
Almaty. June 19. Interfax-Kazakhstan - The survey conducted by Kazakhstan's Institute of Political Solutions (IPS) reveals that the majority of Kazakhstan's residents support the political course of the newly elected Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"The majority of respondents (61.2%) hail the re-election of Vladimir Putin and the political course he pursues "as it benefits Russia and its people," reads the statement released by the IPS on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, 30.9% respondents showed lack of interest in "the political developments in Russia as well as in other countries," said the survey.
The survey revealed that 6.8% of Kazakhstan's population objects to the policy of the Russian president "as being not very effective and incapable of improving the nation's welfare," said the think-tank.
The survey covered 2,307 residents from 16 cities and Kazakhstan.
