COMMUNISTS CALL FOR NO CONFIDENCE VOTE AGAINST GOVERNMENT
Astana. June 6. Interfax-Kazakhstan - Member of the Majilis (lower chamber of parliament) of Kazakhstan, leader of the Parliamentary Communist People's Party Vladislav Kosarev has urged the Majilis to pass a vote of no confidence against the government.
"The work of the government does not deserve a high mark. I believe it is unsatisfactory. (...) We should think about a vote of no confidence," he said at a plenary session of the Majilis to review the budget execution report of the Accounts Committee and government.
The deputy subjected the government to heavy criticism.
"Analyzing large volumes of information I see that money finds its way past the people's interests and into the pockets of big business and corrupt officials," Kosarev said.
According to him, "the government is losing its prestige and the people's confidence".
Under the Constitution of Kazakhstan, the parliament's non-approval of the government's budget execution report is an effective vote of no confidence.
