Kazakh president rewards winners of Olympic Games

Astana. August 17. Interfax-Kazakhstan - Kazakh President has signed a decree rewarding the Kazakh athletes that won medals in the 30th Olympic Games in London and their coaches.

“I have signed a decree to reward our athletes and coaches. Gold medal winners will get paid $250,000 each, silver medal winners $150,000 and bronze medalists $75,000 each,” the president said at a rewarding ceremony in Astana on Friday.

As reported, Kazakh athletes won seven gold, one silver and five bronze medals at the 30th Summer Olympic Games in London ranking 12th in the world.

The gold medal winners are: Alexander Vinokurov (bicycle racing), Zulfia Chinshanlo (weightlifting), Maya Maneza (weightlifting), Svetlana Podobedova (weightlifting), Ilya Ilyin (weightlifting), Olga Rypakova (track-and-field athletics) and Serik Sapiyev (boxing).

Adilbek Niyazymbetov, a boxer, won a silver medal for Kazakhstan.

The bronze medalists are: Daniyal Gadzhiyev (Greco-Roman wrestling), Marina Volnova (women’s boxing), Guzel Manyurova (freestyle wrestling), Ivan Dychko (boxing) and Akzhurek Tanatarov (wrestling).
