Kazakhstan and Russia extend Agreement of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance

Astana. June 8. Interfax-Kazakhstan - Kazakh and Russian Presidents Nursultan Nazarbayev and Vladimir Putting has signed a Protocol of Amendments to the Agreement of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance concluded in 1992.

The Protocol that extends the Agreement for another ten years’ period was signed in Astana on Thursday during the Kazakh-Russian talks, said a reporter of Interfax-Kazakhstan.

The sides sealed five documents including an agreement, which was signed by OJSC RusHydro and Kazakhmys Plc., on joint construction of hydro power plants in Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan and Russia sealed an agreement allowing Russian citizens to stay in Kazakhstan for 30 days without registration and vice versa.

The two countries also concluded an agreement on border crossing by the residents living the regions adjacent to the Kazakh-Russian border, a readmission agreement and a protocol establishing procedures as needed for implementation of this readmission agreement.
